FEE Academy
FEE Academy is our online learning site developed to support our global members and their networks of students, teachers, hotel managers, site operators and more by providing them with key tools and resources to help them to successfully implement the five FEE programmes and work towards achieving our three strategic goals: empowering climate action, protecting global diversity and reducing environmental pollution.
Created using Moodle, courses on FEE Academy are open to all and are free of charge. Curated for both working professionals as well as youth, our courses cover topics such as the basics of biodiversity, understanding Education for Sustainable Development, an introduction the Green Key programme, how to create photographs through an environmental lens and more! Courses for tackling climate change, biodiversity loss & Pollution
This course aims to give you a fundamental understanding of the importance of preserving biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. The last module of the course shares some examples of biodiversity protection actions that you can also implement.
Time Required: 1-2 Hours
Target Group: Teachers, FEE National Operators, Site Operators, Youth Ages 15+
This course aims to provide you with an overview of different types of pollution and its sources. It describes some of the main environmental and health impacts of pollution and presents you with success stories and best practice examples on how pollution can be prevented.

Target Group: Teachers and National Operators of Eco-Schools, LEAF and YRE Programmes
Circular Economy provides a regenerative framework to design a production and consumption system in which materials are used in cycles of closed loops. The course provides you with an overview of the concept of Circular Economy, and its principles and introduces how the principles are being used to shift from a linear economy to a circular economy.

Courses for Tourism Professionals
This course will provide you with an introduction to the Green Key programme, the international voluntary eco-certificate run by the Foundation for Enviromental Education. You will learn about the history, the certification process, the criteria and the many benefits of being a Green Key certified establishment.

Target Group: Professionals in the Hospitality Industry
Sustainability is not only a growing social issue, but consumers are becoming more aware of sustainable practices in tourism establishments. As the awareness to make sustainable travel choices increases, it is important for all stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry to understand the realms of sustainable tourism.
Against this background, this "Basics of Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality course", has been designed to give you fundamental understanding of sustainability in the tourism and hospitality industry. Most sessions will additionally equip each student with practical knowledge about sustainable practices to be implemented in a tourism or hospitality establishment.
Time Required: 3-4 Hours

You’re a teacher wondering how to teach about climate change? This course aims to help you develop solid scientific knowledge about this phenomenon, as well as pedagogical skills that are useful to tackle climate change in the classroom.
Time Required: 20-25 Hours

After following and implementing the Eco-Schools Seven Step process and collecting evidence of success, this course will give you an overview of the assessment criteria for the International Green Flag award and help you plan your journey towards a Green Flag Awarded Eco-School!

Target Group: Teachers and school operators in primary and secondary education
This course will introduce you to the basics of Environmental Literacy, by providing you with an overview of the environmental literacy concept and its components. The course, divided into 6 Modules, will also present to you the basis of environmental literacy excellence and how you can create your own logic model for environmental literacy assessment.

In this course, you will be introduced to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – the set of globally recognized goals that aim to secure a sustainable, peaceful, prosperous, and equitable life on Earth for everyone now and in the future by 2030.
Yes, the SDGs are indeed ambitious and need the participation of all of us! That is also why this course will provide you with specific ideas for how you can get involved and help achieve these goals through your school and local community.

This course will help you figure out WHAT you want to shoot, HOW to put your ideas onto the big screen and WHY film is a powerful tool to raise awareness about environmental issues and SOLUTIONS in your community.

In this course, you’ll learn how to use photography as a powerful storytelling tool by going through each step of the YRE methodology (investigate, research solutions, report, and disseminate) in order to create an impactful photograph that raises awareness about an environmental issue you’re passionate about.
Time Required: 2-3 Hours
Target Group: Young People, Ages 11-25
Words are a powerful tool to bring about positive change which is why in this course you’ll learn how to use them to write informative, engaging and effective journalistic articles about an environmental issue affecting your local environment. By going through the YRE methodology, you’ll learn how to investigate and conduct research on your topic, do interviews, and create a well-structured and impactful journalistic article.
Time Required: 2-3 Hours

Welcome to this course created for teachers wanting to run the YRE programme! This course is comprised of 5 modules that will help you implement the YRE programme both in and outside of the classroom. At the end of each module, a task or quiz has been designed to reinforce what you have learned. Once you've successfully completed all the activities, you'll receive a course completion certificate.
