π½οΈ Menu for Change: Second Serving (26 January 2026)
Following the success of our first Menu for Change event on World Food Day, Menu for Change: Second Serving continues the conversation on how food systems and climate action are deeply connected β and how education can drive both.
This second event in the series leadsup to Global Action Days 2026, our global campaign on Food Security and Climate Change. Join educators, partners, and changemakers from around the world as we explore how we can take action for food systems!
What was on the menu:
π₯ Starter β Welcome & Opening Bites
We kicked things off by reflecting on how food brings together people, communities, and the planet.
We also served up a snapshot of where we are with Global Action Days, including:
π A look at registration numbers
π A recap of this yearβs activities and collective impact
π Main Course β Keynote + Interactive Quiz (EUFIC)
π€ Dr. Amber Peeters, Research Manager at EUFIC, guided us through the powerful role communication plays in shaping food choices, and how culture and social norms influence sustainability decisions.
π§ Through a lively, interactive quiz, she helped us untangle common myths and misunderstandings around food and sustainability, sparking reflection and discussion along the way.
π° Dessert β Final Treats & Announcements
π₯ Global Action Days 2026 β The brand-new Activity Guide was officially released.
π₯¬ PLANβEAT Toolbox (Horizon Europe Project) β We introduced an engaging new educational toolbox designed to support teachers in inspiring more sustainable food choices.
π FEE Education Awards 2025β2026 β Now in their fourth edition, with two categories:

Lesson Plan Competition
Applications are open, celebrating educators who make sustainability part of everyday learning.

π₯ Starter β Welcome & Opening Reflections
We began with an inspiring Q&A that reminded us how food connects people, communities, and the planet.
π½οΈ Main Course β Highlights & Keynotes
Ellen Cecilie Wright from EAT opened with a powerful introduction to planetary boundaries, healthy diets, and sustainable food systems models.
Isaiah Hernandez (@queerbrownvegan) shared how he reconnects with food systems in everyday life β through foraging, sustainability apps, and intersectional practices that nurture both people and the planet.
π° Dessert β Sweet Announcements
π₯ Global Action Days 2026: Celebrating over 10 years of running this campaign! We unveiled the 5 activities for the upcoming edition and opened early-bird registration. Our goal: aiming to mobilise 1 million people from 150 countries.
πΈ YRE International Competition 2025β2026: Empowering young reporters (ages 11β25) to investigate environmental issues, propose solutions, and raise awareness through storytelling and journalism.
π FEE Education Awards 2025β2026 β Now in its fourth edition, this yearβs awards feature two categories: the Teacher Award and the Lesson Plan Competition.
Applications are now open β celebrate educators who turn sustainability into everyday learning!
π§± Didactic Bricks (Erasmus+ Project) β Building a creative tool that makes lesson planning as simple and fun as creating a music playlist. More info here:
